Thought on the third anniversary of my vote for Barack

Three years ago I was sold a bill of goods that if I could I would ask for my money back. You see, three years ago I voted for Barack Obama for President, I voted for change from an administration of war criminals and traitors. What I got was a man who sided with the other side on major issues and a man who continued down the same path towards the collapse of our great country. 

The collapse of this country will not be caused by war or terrorism but by the reluctance of the wealthier Americans to pay their fair share. Taxes are not something to be shirked, they are the way we support this great country. Paying taxes Is PATRIOTIC!

I am proud of the fact my taxes go to Social Security for our seniors in their declining years, education for our children, safety standards and testing for our food and water, food stamps for our most vulnerable. Can you imagine how bad our economy would be right now if it weren't for these safety nets?

Sadly we don't have to imagine it if we actually open our eyes and look around us. But we liberals need to stop blaming the Republicans and start blaming ourselves, we continue to support Democrats who time after time give us lip service while voting the other way.

It truly is time for change, but change within ourselves. Stop supporting someone just because they are a democrat. Call your congressman, senators, and the white house and demand support for our liberal ideals. Time to stand up and lead our country back from the brink.

Using foodstamps at restaurants?

I have been on food stamps, remember how we waited for the new month to begin so we could get more food. It helped stretch the budget through the month. Now the government is letting recipients use them at restaurants, how will that help feed them through the month? seems to me it is a way to end the program. Help people buy food to feed their families for the month or help people feed their families for a few days.

As we remember September 11th

Today as we remember the loss of life on 9/11/2001 let us not forget that terrorism in this country has existed from the moment settlers landed here. The native Americans wiped out, the slaves brought here, the first shots at Lexington and the Civil War; all can be considered acts of terrorism. From Oklahoma City to New York City, from Washington to Bagdad, from Israel to Palestine, let us learn to stop hating each other. That should be the lesson from 9/11 but sadly we will forget in time.

Earthquake!

Didn't feel a thing, feel like I missed out on a moment in history. Glad to see there wasn't major damage but maybe now we can start looking at our major infrastructure. How safe are those bridges and tunnels? Not to mention the gas lines that were installed a century ago.

I though all this could have been prevented if President Obama had ended the wars like he said he would. Interestingly he has been in office for, you guessed it, 31 months.

Mark David Chapman

A friend posted a link for a petition to keep Mark David Chapman in prison. He is the man who killed John Lennon in 1980. The justice system should not be swayed by petition but facts. After all it is not to hold someone out of revenge, it is for punishment and rehabilitation. If Chapman has been rehabilitated he should go free. I think even John Lennon would support that. How many other mentally unstable people who killed someone have been released after being rehabilitated? The only difference between them and Chapman was his victim was famous. Treating Lennon as more important to others would have not been what John wanted.

Obama the Sell Out

I am so ashamed that I got suckered in by this con artist. First giving a tax cut for millionaires was bad enough, but now taking money from the poor and middle class to pay for it is worse. He is a complete sellout to us progressives on the left. We need to not take this lying down, we need to ORGANIZE against this bastard. Kucinich, Weiner, or Hillary needs to call him out on it and demand justice for americans.

The Wizard of Oz

there is an old stereotype about women and their love for shoes. After watching the Wizard of Oz I realized that is all the movie was about. A nice pair of shoes and the women who wanted them. I mean they did look cool but really, couldnt the witch just created her own pair?

Superbowl

Here it is a few days after the Superbowl and people are still talking about the commercials. I wish they had that much passion for the real issues going on in the world. Guess we cant roll them up in a 30 second commercial. Though wouldnt it be nice if they ran a few public service announcements here and there. I mean they are OUR airwaves. Just sayin

Sarah Palin and the voices of hate

Gee, that sounds like a musical group - a bad one. If it were only that simple, sadly its not. The voices of hate want to divide this country, that way then can get what they want. Palin is just being used by those really in charge of the tea party movement to keep our attention from the real issues in this country. The expansion of poverty, the shrinking middle class, and the destruction of our environment. Yes the Koch brothers have done it all.

Hatred in America

I am not a writer so sometimes I just ramble on. Todays ramble is about what happened in Arizona to Congresswoman Gabby Giffords. Shot by a loon on the fringe or assassinated by the tea party, too early to tell right now. What I do feel is that it is the fault of all the hate in this country. The Tea Party likes to call themselves patriots but they are nothing more then an updated version of the Klu Klux Klan, marketed and advertised by Fox news. Why do we lend it legitimacy? We need to stop this madness from devouring our country. Stupidity breeds hate, hate breeds violence, and violence breeds death. We saw that yesterday in Tucson, but we will forget it tomorrow.
