Mark David Chapman

A friend posted a link for a petition to keep Mark David Chapman in prison. He is the man who killed John Lennon in 1980. The justice system should not be swayed by petition but facts. After all it is not to hold someone out of revenge, it is for punishment and rehabilitation. If Chapman has been rehabilitated he should go free. I think even John Lennon would support that. How many other mentally unstable people who killed someone have been released after being rehabilitated? The only difference between them and Chapman was his victim was famous. Treating Lennon as more important to others would have not been what John wanted.
