Oh SNAP

Why is it in the richest country on earth it's acceptable to have hungry citizens? Why do the idiots in congress who spend more in one day on food than those on snap in a month pick on the less fortunate?

I'm getting tired of them blaming the poor for everything. Food stamps do not make people lazy, they feed them. I remember as a child how glad I was to see the month end so that we could get more food.  Food stamps helped feed our family. As my mom laid sick and dying they were the only funds coming in at times. Keep food stamps alive, the children going to bed hungry deserve them...and more.

Music today

Blurred Lines and Get Lucky both have a 70's soul/disco feel to them and both have been very successful. Let's hope that is a sign that music and singing will get back to what it was before rap came along.

On this Memorial Day

On this Memorial Day lets us remember all those who sacrificed their lives for this country. From the soldiers who willingly gave their lives, to the citizens who fought and died for their freedoms here. From the first responders who reach out to help others at risk to their own lives to the protesters who demand their freedom and wont let no one take it away from them. This great country has problems and will continue to if we forget where we came from. The blood of many, from citizens to slaves to soldiers and yes even politicians have been spilled for our freedom. Don't just memorialize them, remember them. Next time this country grinds to a halt because political parties only care about our differences remind them of our common ground, grounds that were fertilized with the blood sweat and tears of freedom.

We are Boston today but will we be tomorrow?

I keep seeing people posting about the bombings in Boston and my heart feels such sorrow. So much hate in the world exists and so much of it is in our own country. This was a terrorist attack for sure and to hit on Patriots Day of all days. In many ways the first shots at Lexington was a domestic terrorist attack. Yet we celebrate it for we were on the side of victory, those cowards who attacked yesterday will not be.

This country was built on terrorism, we use it still today. Obama and his drones are just the latest arsenal in a never ending war on people. How can we as a nation be upset at what happened yesterday yet so non caring about what happens through out the world? Are the victims of President Obamas drones less human than those victims in Boston?

I think not. The family, friends, and nation of those drones victims cry and grieve for them just as we are for those who were hurt or killed in Boston. We must condemn cowardly attacks no matter who is behind them. Even if those attacks come from inside this very country.

Until we as a nation stop hating others we will never see an end to terrorism. Until we have had enough of hate and blame this shall never stop. Today the world is saying We Are Boston but sadly tomorrow we will continue hating and blaming each other. The terror never ends.

Thoughts for today

It's cold out and I think I shall stay in bed. Thankfully it's a four day weekend for me.
