World AIDS Day

Another Worlds Aids Day is here. Nothing to celebrate, just a reminder that there are still many living and dying with this disease.

I have friends who have been afflicted, they did not choose to catch this disease nor did they do anything to deserve it. Some have passed and some, thankfully, are still with us. I remember the ones who are no longer here and feel sadness for them and all they could have been.

I feel anger too. Our government did nothing to help in the beginning of this health crisis. They chose to look away and call it a judgement from god. No one who has this (or any disease) was judged. They caught a disease that anyone of us could have, and any of us still could.

The friends who I know living with this disease have their hardships and they struggle. They fight everyday and I am sure there are times they feel like surrendering but thankfully they don't. I wish them many more years to come and perhaps we shall even get to raise our glasses and toast the cure together in our lifetime.

Sadly I don't believe we will. Too much money is made by keeping them alive and on medication. Like insulin for diabetics, sustainable medication is way more profitable then a cure.

September 11th

Today is the sevententh anniversary of the September 11th attacks. While we remember today we must not mire ourselves in the past at the cost of our future. Progress marches on as does hope and freedom. Live our lives not in fear but in courage. Stand tall knowing that we have each other regardless of religion, ethnicity, ability, age, gender, or sexuality. We are all human and need to continue to remember our similarities. After all, in the end, love trumps hate.

Really?

I am disgusted. People I had respect for, who I thought were compassionate and caring people in reality are twisted fucks. Since this Trump policy of caging children like animals I have seen comments and posts I never expected from people.

Laughing at the thought of crying and scared children is sick. You need help, is your hate for immigrants so overwhelming that you don't sympathize with children? They have done NOTHING to you, stop blaming them for your struggles, they are nothing compared to theirs.

Only cowards hurt children and yes, you who support Trump and his policies are hurting children which makes you a fuckin coward. No better than abusers and pedophiles.

Went to New England Aquarium

No apologies

Comedians should never apologize for a bad joke. Samantha Bee said cunt, so what. Is it a vulgar word, yes, but we laugh at vulgarities all the time.  It is not the same with racist speech. That's not funny.
